Because the holster is wet-molded, it is able to maintain a solid hold on your weapon. For added security, there is a tension screw at the front of the trigger guard area on the holster, which allows you to tighten it down and control the ease (or lack thereof) of drawing the weapon from the holster.

Depending on the barrel length (I'm assuming 5") the Rock Island should fit a standard 1911 holster. Both the S&W 1911 5" and Colt 1911 5" use the same Kingtuk fit (KT212B or KT213B). If you choose either of those gun from the drop down, it should fit your Rock Island 2011 .45.
