NOTE: Most Surefire products are special order. Due to a recent rush of Surefire orders, their warehouse is currently quoting us that new orders might not ship for 4 to 6 weeks.

The SureFire EB1 Backup release date has been pushed back to the fourth quarter of 2012

The SureFire EB1 Backup features 200 max lumens, a TIR lens and dual-output switching. The small but mighty Backup now delivers nearly twice the output as before, thanks to a new, slightly larger LED and TIR lens. And now you have a choice between a tactically advantageous push-for-momentary-on / twist-for-constant-on tailcap model or a convenient click-on / off tailcap. The Backup is still a versatile illumination tool that offers output levels of 200 and 5 lumens. That way you get overwhelming light when you need a tactical advantage and useful low-level light for tasks where you don't want to compromise your dark-adapted vision. A rugged yet smooth Mil-Spec hard-anodized aluminum body protects the Backup's sophisticated electronics, while a two-way pocket clip makes carrying this light head-up or down convenient and secure. Designed by and for law enforcement, it's a great everyday-carry option for anyone.

SureFire Visit, Release Dates for New Flashlights

We had a meeting with SureFire today and we were able to test a few of the new products, and get some release dates for the items that we saw at the 2012 SHOT Show.

SureFire

SureFire Fury

The SureFire Fury isn’t really new, but it sure is an amazing light… the 500 lumens was almost blinding for a light of it’s small size. It is just an all around well planned and well built light.

SureFire EB1 Backup

SureFire EB1 BackupThe EB1 Backup is now available and ready for sale about a month away from being ready. We estimate that it will be shipping in May. It packs 200 lumens into a single Lithium 123A flashlight. Great for a small and handy light that won’t weigh you down or get in the way. We are currently taking preorders on the EB1 Backup.

SureFire 2211 Wristlight

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to play around with the 2211 Wristlight, but we did get some new information on it. We already knew the 2211 will turn on and off as you draw your weapon or flick your wrist. The cool feature is that it is programmable… allowing you to set it up for your on/off movement preferences and brightness in advance. We are really looking forward to this one.

SureFire Release Dates for New Flashlights

SureFire EB1 Backup 200 Lumen Flashlight (Pre-Order) Reviews

Display Name:
Good, not great flashlight
Pros:
Quality, durability
Cons:
Overpriced, heavy, hard to turn on
Other Information:
I have used the Surefire E1B BackUp for a long time and is my favorite flashlight. I decided to try the new and improved Surefire BackUp EB1 model. It's a bit longer and heavier and way overpriced. I also don't like the twist to turn on feature, which makes it a lot harder to turn on quickly. $100 would be more reasonable, but it does supply a good amount of light, but not a noticeable difference from the older model. I still like the older E1B model much better.
