Is the light only one setting?
The DM2 Defender has two modes: 500 lumen / 1.5 hour runtime and a 15 lumen / 45 hour runtime. It also has two switch options, a click-type and tactical option.
Does the light have momentery for both outputs?
Yes, the SureFire DM2 Defender has a version that features two-stage tactical switching: press lightly for momentary-on low, press fully for momentary-on high; turn partially for constant-on low, turn completely for constant-on high.
How much does the SureFire DM2 Defender cost?
It is looking like the SureFire DM2 Defender, along with its' price, will be released 4th Quarter, 2012.
When will the SureFire DM2 Defender be availible?
From SureFire-The DM2 Defender will be available sometime 4th Quarter 2012-Look for an October Release.
Is there good spill with this light?
The SureFire DM2 Defender has excellent light output assisted by the TIR Lens which focuses the beam, making it a great pocket searchlight.
Is this still coming?
Yes; the SureFire DM2 Defender is still a planned release. We will make this item available for sale as soon as we hear from SureFire for Pricing and/or availability.
Surefire said they will not release DM2 defender anymore. is there a truth to this?
While it is true that SureFire has discontinued many of the previous Defender series lights, SureFire has said nothing to us about not manufacturing this light. They have indicated that it would be available "sometime 4th quarter, 2012".
This thing still coming? In 2013?
Unfortunately no, and it will be removed from our website shortly. As many of you already know, SureFire has a history of pushing back promised delivery dates and of not releasing products debuted at major trade shows. This is one of those products that will not be released.
