Our Under Armour rep just came in for a visit and brought some samples of the new UA Venom and Venom Low shoes. They are based on the Under Armour Valsetz that came out last year, but redesigned and rebranded as the Venom with a lower fit and sleeker style. They both use the UA Spine technology from Under Armour which provides a heavily supported ‘spine’ across the bottom of the shoe which allows the shoe to twist and move without sacrificing stability. We were really impressed with the UA Spine samples that we saw.
The Under Armour Venom features an Ortholite sock liner, Under Armour’s exclusive UA Spine technology, a lightweight design with superior protection and aggressive tread to provide superior grip without holding rocks or mud.

Bates just sent us some information on their new product line, and they have some great boots coming out later this year. Here is a breakdown of what you will be seeing soon:
The Bates Zero Mass is a lightweight low ride boot that features the Wolverine Warrior abrasion resistant and quick drying leather, a 10 degree heal to toe angle to provide stability and reduce fatigue and is constrcuted from lightweight non-metallic components. Available in black and desert tan, we should have the Bates Zero Mass available for shipping within the next few weeks.
The Bates Annobon is being called the ‘modern day jungle boots’ by Bates, and the nickname is justified. The Annobon features a lightweight and flexible exoskeleton with a perforated lining to give it a highly secure and stable frame with active ventilation. Built using a permanent bonded outsole with 360 security stitch, the Annobon is a extremely durable boot that will outlast most of it’s competitors. The lightweight design also features non-metallic hardware for security friendly environments. The Bates Annobon is expected to ship in October, and will be available in 6″ Black, 8″ Black and an 8″ Desert Sand Boot.
The Bates Brigade boots are a performance boot that is breathable, flexible and has a shock absorbing midsole and heel and toe rands for added protection. The Bates Brigade will be available in Black, Sage, Desert Tan and Coyote Tan.
Bates is also releasing some new styles of the Delta 8″ boots with ICS. They should be available for shipping within the next few weeks.
For our 11th gift idea, we have the Z Series overshoes by Lacrosse Footwear. Danner approached the Tektite design as a challenge to find synergy between the fit of a sneaker and the strength of a work boot. Their realization came in two forms; the lightweight EXO platform design and the lightweight, highly breathable and abrasion resistant strength of Superfabric.
Challenging themselves to craft a boot with the lightweight performance of a sneaker, Danner developed the unique EXO platform system and wrapped it in thermoplastic polyurethane for durability and extra comfort. Integrated with our DT4 last, the Tektite provides a highly responsive, low profile athletic fit.
Understanding the need to develop a unity between strength and breathability, Danner engineered a way to craft the boot upper out of a Super Fabric material which provides extreme abrasion resistant strength in a highly breathable form and then lined it with GORE-TEX XCR which was engineered for added comfort and breathability while providing the same waterproof protection.
Danner’s lightest and most flexible tactical boot, the Melee features a unique outsole design. Their unique Melee outsole is constructed with a 360 pentagonal low lug pattern for grip in all directions, a rugged outer lug pattern with molded siping that disperses water and provides maximum surface contact and Danners patent pending VIA technology which provides a V-4 abrasion rubber compound in the medial side arch for fast roping control.
