BlackHawk has done a lot of things right, and one of them is their knife collection. This is the perfect tactical and/or duty knife. The CQD Mark 1 E by Blackhawk Tactical features a high strength button-lock mechanism, recessed seatbelt/cord cutter and a carbide glass breaker. ... (read more)We just ran a report of our training gun sales over the last year (August 2011 through July 2012), and thought it would be interesting information to share here on our blog. A few of the surprising facts were that 8 out of 10 of the training guns are Ring’s Blueguns, 5 of the top 10 are Glocks, and Ruger is well represented with the LCP at 7, LC9 at 9 and the LCR was at 11. The ASP Red Guns didn’t make an appearance until the 19th spot with their Smith and Wesson M&P training gun. Also, the first weighted training gun didn’t appear on our rankings until 91, with the Springfield XMD Weighted Version by Ring’s Blueguns.
The top spot belongs to the Glock 17 Blue Gun, with almost twice the sales of the #2 spot, and around 6 times the sales of the #10 spot. Because of the close similarities, this can also be used for training with a Glock 22 or Glock 31.
With almost double the sales of the #3 spot, the Glock 19 training gun by Ring’s took the #2 spot. This one also work for training as a Glock 23 or Glock 32.
Blackhawk Tactical has a very limited selection of just the most popular weapons, but they make a quality training gun at an extremely competitive price over the blue and red training guns.
Not technically a ‘Training Gun’ but the blue training knife by Ring’s was #4 on our list. A lot of combat training requires disabling and removing weapons from attackers, and having a non-sharp knife to simulate the combat with is a must.
The 1911 and it’s variants is one of the most mass produced pistols in history, making the 1911 blue gun our fifth best selling training gun over the last year.

Yesterday, Blackhawk Tactical announced on their Facebook page that they are releasing a 2nd Generation version of their popular Knoxx SpecOps NRS Shotgun Stock in April. While we don’t have many details about it at this time, it looks like it has a more ergonomic grip and possibly sits further back. A SpecOps NRS Gen II LTL (Less Than Lethal) model will also be available in orange.

Q: What is a BreachersGrip?
A: The BreachersGrip is an innovative recoil reducing pistol grip only shotgun stock. It consists of a pistol grip that attaches to the receiver. The BreachersGrip is the most comfortable shooting pistol grip stock available in the firearms industry. The BreachersGrip name is derived from the Law Enforcement or Military tactic of breaching a locked door with specially manufactured shotgun ammunition.
Q: Why is the BreachersGrip more comfortable to shoot than other pistol grip only stocks?
A: The BreachersGrip has an integrated recoil-reduction system inside the pistol grip that absorbs the majority of painful recoil. With other pistol grip only shotgun stocks there is no recoil reduction so all the recoil energy is transferred into the shooters hand and wrist (Ouch!). The “Grip Break” Holster fromBlackHawk is a modified Yaqui style that has a thumb release that is very natural, to which we’ve become accustomed fromBlackHawk. Expected to be released at end of February along with the Epoch, and will fit the 17/22/31 first. Next up for a fit in the Grip Break will be the 1911 series, then the S&W M&P Series. One of the great things about this style of holster is that one fit allows it to fit virtually any barrel length, which makes your dollar go a lot farther. Blackhawk Tactical has a new tuckable holster that they were showing off at the SHOT Show. It uses a mix of leather and Kydex and uses a three slot design for belt wear, which isremovablefor wearing inside the pants. The Epoch has finally arrived (almost)! Due at the end of February, the first BlackHawk Level III Holster to fit weapons with lights other than the Xiphos Light, will be out. It will arrived first for the Glock 17/22/31, then the Glock 21, which will also fit the Smith & Wesson M&P Series weapons (look for this fit to come out in March). It will work almost the same as their current Level III Holster, but with no forefinger release along the side of the holster…leaving the thumb release only, which was surprisingly natural and easy from the very first time I unholstered the BlackHawk Grey Training Gun with a SureFire X300 light mounted on the rail. The hood purposefully stays forward to prevent accidental re-engaging when it may matter most, giving in only when the thumb release is depressed upon reholster. It also still secures the weapon with the all too comforting audible “click” upon holstering, so you can continue the task at hand, knowing that your weapon is secure until you can engage the hood lock.
