BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP OFFERS REIMURSEMENTS UP TO 50%

Funding to help pay for bulletproof vests is available through the US Department of Justice BULLET-PROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP. Since 1999, over 11,900 jurisdictions have participated in the BVP Program, with $173 million in federal funds committed to support the purchase of an estimated 450,000 vests.


STEP 1 - REGISTER ONLINE
If you are unable to register online (online registration has been working sporadically), call 1-877-758-3787 and ask if they will take your registration over the phone. If you have registered previously, you do not need to do this.

STEP 2 - APPLY ONLINE DURING ENROLLMENT PERIOD
Be sure to identify the total number, type, and projected cost of Armor Express vests for your eligible and participating law enforcement officers.

STEP 3 - PURCHASE VESTS AFTER DOJ FUNDING DECISION
Funding decisions are made immediately after the “open application period” ends. Applicants are notified via email regarding their approved funding levels. Armor Express products can be purchased through any authorized Armor Express distributor.

STEP 4 - REQUEST PAYMENT BY COMPLETING AN ONLINE RECEIVING REPORT
Once vests are delivered, complete an online receiving report and request for payment.

Applications for FY 2008 BVP funds must be submitted via the online BVP system, by 5:00 pm (Eastern Time), Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
