We met with Streamlight today and took a look at their new TLR-7 and TLR-8 weaponslights. High 500 lumen output with a single CR123A battery. It is incredible to have this much light thrown from a single battery. The low profile design minimizes space taken up on the rail. The controls on the TLR-7 and TLR-8 are even easier than with previous models. There is also a good chance that with the smaller design it should fit holsters from previous TLR designs.
Here is an interview we did with Mike Nelson from Streamlight earlier today:
One of the most popular weapons lights, the X300 Ultra by SureFire, will be available in a desert tan version. The expected release date is October 2014, but as with most SureFire release dates that could be an early estimate. We will have it available here at On Duty Gear once it is released.
SureFire X300 Ultra Desert Tan
The powerful and versatile SureFire X300 Ultra WeaponLight for handguns and long guns features a high-performance LED that generates 500 lumens of stunning white light focused by a Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens to produce a tight beam with extended reach and significant surround light for peripheral vision. The virtually indestructible and highly efficient LED generates tactical-level light—more than enough to overwhelm an aggressor’s dark-adapted vision—for 1.5 hours per set of batteries.
Activating the X300 Ultra is done via ambidextrous switching located at the rear of body, providing one-finger control — press the switch on either side for momentary-on activation, flip up or down for constant-on activation. Optional DG grip switches (for pistols) and a pressure activated XT07 tape switch (for long guns) permit the X300 Ultra to be activated without altering your grip on your weapon.
The X300 Ultra can be attached to a pistol or a long gun since its Rail-Lock® system permits rapid attachment to and removal from either Universal or Picatinny rails. Its high-strength aerospace aluminum body is Mil-Spec hard anodized for superior toughness and is O-ring and gasket sealed to make it weatherproof.
Available in Black (and Desert Tan in October 2014).
FITS: Handguns and long guns with Picatinny or Universal rails. Adapter mounts available for several non-railed handguns.
X300 Ultra Desert Tan Features
Virtually indestructible LED regulated to maximize output and runtime
Tactical-level output with TIR lens for close- to longer-range applications
Quick-detach rail clamp
Accepts optional pistol grip and long gun forend switches

Blackhawk has a new weapon light being released soon that is based on their previous Xiphos NT. The Xiphos NTX light features 180 lumens and a two hour runtime off of a single lithium 123A battery. The last update we got from Blackhawk shows a released date in June or July.
Designed for one-hand activation, this featherweight weapon-mounted light features a patent-pending Cam-Clamp mount that lets you quickly install the light onto nearly any rail weapon mount without the use of tools. The Cam-Clamp eliminates the need to slide the light down long rails, and it installs in the desired location instantly.
Injection-molded carbin-fiber/polymer body
Stainless steel and black oxide-finish metal
Corrosion-resistant black anodized aluminum
Ambidextrous operation of all programmed functions
Intelligent circuit design eliminates afterglow
No tools required for installation or battery removal
Anti-reflective glass lens for maximum light output
High-impact lifetime LED resists high G-forces from recoil and drops
Imporved tail cap and switch
Modes of output: Momentary Switch, Constant On, Strobe and Low Battery Indicator
We talked about the Streamlight HL series at the 2013 SHOT Show and we expect to have them in the store within the next 3 weeks. Until that time, we have opened up the availability to pre-order the HL series lights, the Stinger Lite Pipe and the TLR-2G weaponlight with green laser (pictured below).
Here is a list of the new Streamlight flashlights:
We have some more information on their HL Series lights and some of the other new products they are displaying at the 2013 SHOT Show. Streamlight is making an extremely strong showing at the SHOT Show and we are excited about their 2013 product line coming out. Here is what we have so far:
Streamlight DS LED HL
The Streamlight DS LED HL is an upgraded version of their DS LED which will feature the same dual-switch functionality of the standard version but with an upgraded light output of 640 lumens. It will also feature a standard sized head, unlike the oversized HP line.
Streamlight TLR-1 HL and TLR-2 HL
Both weaponlights will feature a 630 lumen wide beam patter, with the TLR-2 also coming with a laser. Both will feature a standard sized head and will fit almost any weapon that the standard TLR series will fit. They will run off a standard lithium 123A battery and have around a 1.25 hour runtime (without the laser).
Streamlight TLR-2G Weaponlight
You guessed it…the G stands for Green! Now with a green laser for easy visibility during daylight conditions, 200 Lumens and unlike SureFire, we’re sure it’s actually going to come out!
Streamlight TLR-1 Game Spotter
The TLR-1 Game Spotter-based on the TLR-1 HP, but it now has a 150 Lumen Green LED Beam to see at a distance while preserving night vision and minimize the spooking of the outdoor critters.
Streamlight Strion LED HL Rechargeable
Going along with the new HL line, they are going to be coming out with a 500 lumen Strion with a battery that is rechargeable up to 1000 times.
Existing Streamlight flashlights that will be upgraded:
Streamlight DS LED HP – 3 modes: 350 lumens high, 175 lumens medium and 85 lumens low
Streamlight TLR-1 and TLR-2 Standard – Will be 300 lumens
Streamlight LED HP and the Stinger DS LED will also receive upgrades
Streamlight Flashlight Holders
With all of the new variations and upgrades, Streamlight will be coming out with a set of holders custom fit for their entire flashlight line.
Streamlight is coming out with a couple great lights at the SHOT Show. Here is the information we have so far. Paul visited the Streamlight booth today and we will update this post as we get pictures and tech specs.
Streamlight TLR-1 HL
This high lumen beast of a weapons mounted tactical light features a polymer build and C4 LED light that packs 630 lumens. The TLR-1 HL also has a respectable 1.25 hour runtime considering the amount of light it puts out, and also comes with a strobe mode. The rail clamp allows it to be rapidly attached and detached from a wide range of weapons. There will also be variations of the TLR-1 HL with a red or green laser. Another nice advantage of the HL is that it doesn’t have an oversized head like the HP versions of some Streamlight lights. The Streamlight TLR-1 will run off standard Lithium 123A batteries.
We will keep you updated as we get more information.
Here is a picture Paul shot on his phone at the Streamlight booth:

Get your night vision ready. Here is another great item that SureFire had at the 2012 SHOT Show. If features an IR Laser with a white light primary beam on a selector switch. Like the standard SureFire X400 it fits universal and picatinny rails.
Here is one of the quieter surprises to come out of the 2012 SHOT Show. SureFire is coming out with an ultra version of the X300 that has 500 Lumens of optimized light and fits universal and standard picatinny rails.
